Property for sale in Llafranc
Llafranc is a small bay between two headlands, with a sandy beach, a marina and houses climbing the hillside towards the lighthouse of Sant Sebastià. It belongs to Palafrugell, three kilometres inland.

What buying in Llafranc is really like
Only about 300 people live in Llafranc all year. In summer the village fills up, but it never loses its scale: one beach of about 360 metres, a promenade, a small marina and the hill behind. Calella is a short walk along the coastal path, and the town of Palafrugell is a few minutes by car.
Buyers choose Llafranc for the setting and because it stays small. Houses here are bought for a view or for a particular street, and they change hands slowly. When you are not here, the house still needs attention, and we can look after it.
Most of the village is detached houses on the slopes, including some fine villas from the 1930s, with apartments closer to the beach. Very little is ever on the market at once.

Roman wine and a lighthouse
Llafranc is older than it looks. In Roman times it was a centre for wine and pottery: the remains of a wine press and a cellar have been found near the church of Santa Rosa, and more than ten Roman villas have been found in the land behind. The settlement lasted until the fourth century.
On the headland above stands the lighthouse of Sant Sebastià, lit for the first time on 1 October 1857, next to a fifteenth century watchtower and an eighteenth century hermitage. Modern Llafranc began in the 1930s with the first villas, grew from the 1950s with tourism, and got its marina in 1963.
Areas in and around Llafranc
Llafranc is small. The headland is what most buyers ask about first.
Far de Sant Sebastià
The headland above the bay, about 165 metres high, with the lighthouse, the watchtower and the hermitage. The coastal path climbs to it from near the marina, and the houses on its slopes have the widest views of the village.
